Missing Link

Free party game · 3–50 players

Think like everyone else.

Two words. One missing link. Everyone secretly types the word that connects them — and you score a point for every player who wrote the same thing as you.

Plays in the browser. Players need no app and no account.

Night Moon
  • Star Anna, Ben, Chris +2
  • Campfire Dana, Eli +1
  • Wolf Fay — all alone! +0
A round of Night + ? + Moon: three players thought Star.

How it works

  1. Open a room

The host signs in once and gets a six-letter room code. Friends join from their phones with the code, the link or a QR code — just a name and a colour.

  2. Find the missing link

Two words appear. Everyone secretly types the word that connects them. There's no timer — it's about reading the room, not typing fast.

  3. Match the crowd

Answers are revealed group by group, from the lone weirdos to the biggest match. One point for every player who wrote the same word as you.

For Twitch and YouTube

Play with your whole chat

Up to 50 viewers join from their phones with the code on screen. You stay in control of what goes on air.

  • A screen made for OBS

Add the stream screen as a browser source: prompt, progress and reveal in 1080p, without your host controls.

  • Nothing on air you didn't choose

Answers stay hidden on stream until you show them. Drop anything that mustn't be seen — it's never shown and counts as no answer.

  • Safe names

Players appear as names like “Sleepy Otter”. Your own name stays visible, so viewers know they're in the right room.

  • Room control

Lock the room when it's full of the right people, kick trolls in one go, and just host without playing if you prefer.

On the couch, on a call, in a classroom

Game nights

Put the room on the TV or just play on phones. Three players is enough; the bigger the group, the better the reveals.

Remote teams

Share the link in your call. One round takes a couple of minutes and gets everyone talking.

Groups up to 50

Classrooms, clubs and parties: everyone plays at once on their own phone, and every player sees their own place on the leaderboard.

1,200 prompts in 20 packs

Start with Classic, free for everyone. More themed packs are on the way — from movies, food and sport to kids' favourites and, for grown-ups only, After Dark.

18+ packs only unlock after the host confirms everyone playing is an adult.

Questions

Is Missing Link free?

Yes. You can host and play with the Classic pack for free. More packs will be available as optional extras; players never pay.

Do players need an account or an app?

No. Players open the link or type the room code in their phone's browser and pick a name. Only the host signs in, with Twitch, Google or email.

How many people can play?

From 3 to 50 players per room. The host can play along or just run the game.

How long does a game take?

You choose 10, 20 or 50 rounds. A round usually takes one to three minutes, depending on your group — there's no timer.

Can I play it on stream?

Yes — it's built for it. Add the stream screen to OBS, keep answers hidden until you show them, give players safe names, and lock or clean up the room at any time.

Which devices does it work on?

Any recent phone, tablet or computer with a web browser. Nothing to install.
