Missing Link

Terms of use

Last updated: 29 September 2026

These terms apply when you use Missing Link, the party game at https://missinglinkgame.com and https://play.missinglinkgame.com. “We” below means the team behind Missing Link, based in the Netherlands. By playing or hosting, you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.

1. The game

Missing Link lets a host create a room that others join from their own devices to play a word game together. Playing is free. Some content packs may later be offered as paid extras; any purchase will come with its own terms, shown before you pay.

2. Who can use it

  • You must be at least 16 years old to play. If you're younger than the age of digital consent in your country, you need a parent's permission.
  • Hosting requires an account and is for adults (18+).
  • Packs marked 18+ contain adult humour. The host may only use them when everyone playing is 18 or older, and confirms this in the game.

3. Host accounts

Hosts sign in with Twitch, Google or an email code. Keep access to your account to yourself; you're responsible for rooms created with it. You can delete your account at any time in the game under Account & data.

4. Play fair and be decent

Don't use Missing Link to:

  • harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful, sexual, violent or illegal content in names or answers;
  • share other people's personal information;
  • flood rooms with fake players, bots or scripts, or join rooms you weren't invited to in order to disrupt them;
  • attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or get around its limits;
  • pretend to be someone else, or suggest that you represent us.

We may remove content, close rooms, and suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, without notice where needed to protect others or the service.

5. What you type

Names and answers are yours; you're responsible for them. You give us the permission we need to show them to the other people in the room (and on a host's stream) while the game runs. We don't keep them after the room closes.

6. Hosts and streams

A host runs their room: they can remove players, drop answers, lock the room and choose what appears on stream. If you broadcast a game, you're responsible for your broadcast and for following the rules of the platform you stream on. The game's tools (hidden names, hidden answers, dropping answers) help, but they don't check content for you.

7. Codes

We sometimes hand out codes that unlock passes or packs. A code works once, has no cash value, can't be exchanged for money, and may have an expiry date. We may cancel codes that were obtained or used improperly.

8. Our game

The game, its design, prompts and packs belong to us. You may play, stream and record your games, including on monetised channels. You may not copy the prompt packs or the game itself, or offer them as your own.

9. Availability

We work hard to keep Missing Link running, but we can't promise it's always available or free of errors. Rooms close automatically after a while (see the privacy policy). We may change or stop features, and we may pause the service for maintenance.

10. Liability

Missing Link is provided free and “as is”. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect damage or for loss caused by other players, hosts or the platforms you stream on, and our total liability is limited to € 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; for important changes we'll tell hosts by email in advance. If you keep using the game after a change, the new terms apply.

12. Law and disputes

Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless the law of your country gives you, as a consumer, the right to go to a court where you live. Questions or complaints? Email hello@missinglinkgame.com — we'd rather sort it out with you directly.
